This course is suitable for those who are complete beginners or who would like to repeat the basics of two really great dances: Argentinian tango and Blues dance.

Blues and tango have been played and danced for about hundred years in North and South America respectively. They both originate from a mix of dances and musical influenses from Africa, America and Europe but have since developed in different directions.

But still today when dancing blues and tango the dancers look for the same feeling: Flow and connection to the music, the body and the partner. The techniques and the practices to reach this feeling is pretty similar in both dances so it makes sense to learn both of them in the same beginners course.

During the class we will practice different skills neccessary for good dancing. We learn the most common steps in each dance and learn to combine the movements in beautiful ways with the music. We will practice body control, memory, musicality, balance and very importantly communication with the partner.

Towards the end of the course we will be visiting some of Uppsalas great dance events in tango and blues. But already after the first lesson you are welcome to stay and dance and mingle at the ¡Chill out!.

We hope that you will have a fun, interesting and efficient introduction to dancing. It is really a great source of fun!

Welcome to this exciting class!
